Bridal mehndi designs are one of the key elements to a brides wedding day. the bride looks for a dress for the big day. But the runner up to the wedding is always filled with festivities and cultural events. The mehndi is an event which takes place on the wedding weekend and is a cheerful affair. Since this is the first of our mehndi articles, we don’t have an older link to share on a previous article. Since we have started on it, I need to inform you on our next feature article on mehndi designs which will focus on the Arabic style. Since mehndi is an eastern tradition worn with eastern wear, why not have a look at some bridal Pakistani outfit ideas here.
The Origin of Mehndi And Its Design
Mendhi is also known as henna and is applied in a paste form. There are many variations of the mehndi design. They range from the Indian, Arabian and Pakistani designs. Women normally wear them on their hands and feet. Mehndi is most commonly worn by brides. However, these days they are worn by wedding guests, to parties and for Eid. Most Muslim girls wear mehndi on their nails throughout the year. Mehndi ceremonies are mostly celebrated by the brides family and it is when the bride gets her mehndi applied for her wedding day. The mother of the bride and family members also join in the festivities. In some cultures the groom also applies mehndi. I watched a Bangladeshi wedding and noticed the men also have mehndi patterns applied. I thought it looked a bit weird, since they had the mehndi applied to their nails as well. But, if you grow up seeing it, it would be normal.
Mehndi Designs For Brides
Over the years the mehndi designs have evolved. I mean, who would’ve thought you’d get black mehndi and now you even get white mehndi. I have never thought I’d see the day of that coming. There are many ways of making your mehndi design shine on your wedding day. There are various types of patterns and mehndi’s which you can use. I saw colourful glitter mehndi, white mehndi, black mehndi and jewels and sequins are used to embellish you hands and arms. Choosing a design is important. You don’t want it to clash with your outfit. The most common mehndi design is the flower or paisley patterns. Some modern brides rather opt for the “less is more approach”, as they might be forced into wearing it and rather wear a simple design. There are many brides who love mehndi and wear the full hand and arm design. Brides also adorn their feet and lower legs with the beautiful design.

Embellished Bridal Mehndi Designs With Jewels
The introduction of jewels on the mehndi design is quite common for brides. The colours of the jewels often match the outfit and make the use of jewellery unnecessary. However, in the Indian culture, the more jewellery you wear, the better.
